Billie Eilish Looks Back on 2024, Describing It as a Year of Growth and Fulfillment
The pop star reflected on a transformative year, highlighting her professional milestones and personal accomplishments.
If you’ve been curious about what Billie Eilish considers the standout moments of her 2024, wonder no more.
The Grammy-winning artist has opened up about the highs of the past 12 months, offering fans a glimpse into her evolving life and career.
At just 23 years old, Billie Eilish’s journey continues to amaze.
This year saw the release of her third studio album, followed by an impressive global tour that left fans in awe. Her career has truly soared to new heights.
In May, she released Hit Me Hard and Soft, which quickly became a sensation.
The album earned the title of the second most-streamed record on Spotify for 2024, only trailing behind Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poet’s Department.
Billie Eilish shared that her 2024 has been filled with meaningful friendships and moments of intimacy.
Among Billie Eilish’s adventurous dreams are skydiving, bungee jumping, and stunt driving. “I really want to do stuff like that—things that have a little danger to them,” she said with excitement.
“I just want to live adventurously,” she added, before revealing some personal goals: “I definitely want more piercings, more tattoos, another dog, spending time with family, making new friends, and, yes, having great experiences—including good sex.”
The Ocean Eyes singer then shared that she had already accomplished many of her personal goals from 2023, humorously noting that the “good sex” aspiration had been checked off the list.
Another highlight of 2024 for Billie was reconnecting with old friends. Having previously spoken about the challenges of maintaining close friendships after skyrocketing to fame, she made it a priority this year to rebuild and strengthen those bonds.
Reflecting on this, she shared: “I’ve spent the whole year making new friends and rekindling old ones. I got closer to people I hadn’t been with in a while and reconnected with friends I’d lost touch with. It’s been a year full of friendship, and honestly, even though I talked about wanting to do daring things, this was the thing I wanted most—and I did it. It was amazing.”
With a laugh, she concluded: “And yes, I’ve had a lot of good sex. So, thanks for that, Billie!”
At 23, the musician has reached remarkable milestones this year.
While fans are eager to uncover who might be keeping Billie Eilish smiling these days, she’s kept those details private, leaving her love life a frequent topic of speculation.
Her sexuality has also been a source of public curiosity. Tracks like Lunch and her feature on Charli XCX’s remix of Guess sparked widespread debate online—something Billie has openly expressed frustration about.
Addressing the speculation, she explained: “That song [Lunch] was actually a big part of my journey to understanding myself. I wrote some of it before I’d ever even been with a girl and finished it after.”
“I never planned to talk about my sexuality—ever. It’s incredibly frustrating that it became such a focus,” she added.
Billie has been candid about her annoyance with the media’s fixation on her personal preferences. Reflecting on her self-discovery, she shared: “I’ve been in love with girls my whole life, but it wasn’t until last year that I realized what it truly meant for me. That was the moment it all clicked.”
“I was never planning on talking about my sexuality—ever. It’s incredibly frustrating that it became a topic of discussion,” Billie Eilish once admitted.
In 2023, she took to Instagram to address the speculation, confirming her attraction to both boys and girls. She ended her post with a direct message to her followers: “Leave me alone about it, please. Literally, who cares?”
Reflecting on the incident later in an interview with Rolling Stone, Billie acknowledged that her response was emotional but felt it was necessary to reclaim control of her story.
“The whole world suddenly decided who I was, and I didn’t have a chance to say anything or control any of it,” she explained. “Nobody should feel pressured to be one thing or the other.”
She added, “It takes time to figure yourself out, and it’s really unfair how the internet pushes people into revealing who they are or what they identify as before they’re ready.”
