As if the future wasn’t weird enough as it is

I’m about 50 percent convinced that one of the reasons AI has gained so much attention is to create some of the strangest celebrity pairings imaginable.

Sure, AI has many practical uses, but while those are still being explored, we’re witnessing its creepier and more unsettling side. And let’s be real, it’s equal parts fascinating and bizarre.

A new video circulating on social media has left people feeling uneasy. No, it’s not terrifying creatures from the deep or some unspeakable horror. It’s famous celebrities paired together in ways youโ€™d never expectโ€”or wishโ€”to see.

Social media users were quick to voice their reactions to the bizarre clip.

One person commented: “This is hilarious, and horrifying.”

Another added: “Putting Greta with anyone is the worst thing Iโ€™ve seen in a while. I need bleach for my eyes!”

A third user kept it short and sweet, saying: “This is cursed.”

Someone else summed it up with: “And just like that, I’ve hit my ‘ewww’ limit for the day.”

Yet another user remarked: “Well, you did it. You managed to gross out the entire internet. Congrats.”

While it may seem like harmless fun for now, experts are voicing concerns about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence and its possible negative effects on humanity.

A number of viewers also pointed out just how unsettlingly realistic the video appeared, adding to the unease.

Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, a cognitive psychologist and computer scientist with a history at Google, has shared his insights on the darker implications of AI.

During an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Today program, Dr. Geoffrey Hinton discussed the unsettling reality of AI development: “You see, we’ve never had to deal with things more intelligent than ourselves before.”

He went on to explain, “And how many examples do you know of a more intelligent thing being controlled by a less intelligent thing? There are very few examples.”

Reflecting on the rapid progress, he added, “I didnโ€™t think weโ€™d be where we are now. I thought it would take a while, but I knew it was coming.”

He further stated, “Most experts in the field believe that in the next 20 years, weโ€™ll develop AIs that are smarter than humans.”

He concluded with a chilling thought: “And thatโ€™s a very scary thought.”
